This guide shows how to explore a portion of the map surrounding Eredon Terrace in Factions that is not normally accessible. It should be worth about 0.5% towards Canthan Cartographer.
Your Build: */A for
Death's Charge. This skill is given to you once you change your secondary to an Assassin, so no more than 500g is needed.
Heroes and Henchmen: Very flexible: all you need them to do is survive for a few seconds against 4-5 lvl 20 Luxons. I had my heroes set to avoid combat to make sure they didn't kill the merchant, and it can be done without henchmen.
Conditions: Since we are in a Kurzick alliance, Luxons must have control of the town and you must have more Kurzick faction than Luxon.
Step 1) Now that you have all that, go to Eredon Terrace. While there notice where the gate for the alliance that is holding the town is, and that off to the right is a bridge that you could cross if you could get through the gate.
Step 2) Head out into Maishang Hills. Arrange your party so that everyone is just south of the rez shrine group of Luxons. For simplicity sake be careful not to aggro the rot wallow/island guardian group near by.
Step 3) Talk to the priest and get him to fight you. (select “Let’s talk this over”, then “I am done talking then! (Fight)”) When the Luxons turn red, the merchant will run away from you and hopefully into town. When he's past the portal, hit Death's Charge and shadow step to him.
Step 4) The merchant should run back to his spot, and your heroes and henchmen should follow you into town. Explore the town at your leisure now.
Step 5) The main part is accessed through the alliance gate mentioned in Step 1 (you can walk right through it). Then go across the bridge off to the right (north-northwest of the gate). You can go behind the windmill and quarry equipment by walking by on the right side.

Gate is the alliance gate mentioned in step 1.
Map1 is a quick run through with TexMod.
Map2 is a quick run through without TexMod.
Map2 also shows another bug I ran across - I actually did walk to the lone dot, it just wasn’t recorded.
Any suggestions are appreciated. So far, thanks to Empress Kel and Cyrx Kel for their input.
